San Telmo Buenos Cyprus ("we", "us") runs this website and its table-reservation service. This page explains what personal data we handle, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.
The short version
We only collect personal details when you reserve a table. We do not use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, profiling or social-media trackers of any kind — there are no third-party scripts on this site at all.
What we collect
When you reserve a table, you give us:
- your name (required, so we can find your table);
- your email address and / or phone number — at least one, so we can confirm the reservation and reach you if the event changes;
- an optional message, if you write one;
- the seats you chose, a reference code, and the date and time you booked.
Our staff also record whether you arrived, so the door knows which tables are taken on the night.
Stored only in your browser, never sent to us: your language choice, and a small reservation cookie (santelmo_bookings) so this site can show you "your reservation" instead of the booking button. That cookie holds only the event, seats, reference code and date — no name, email or phone. It lasts 365 days and you can clear it at any time in your browser settings. It is never read by our server.
Technical logs. Like every website, our hosting provider automatically records each request: IP address, browser and device type, the page requested and the time. We do not use these to identify you; they exist for security and to diagnose faults.
That is everything. We collect no other personal data.
Why we handle it, and on what basis
- Your reservation details — to hold your table, send you a confirmation, and contact you if something about the event changes. This is necessary to provide the service you asked for.
- Technical logs — to keep the site secure, available and working correctly. This is our legitimate interest in running a reliable service.
Who else can see it
- Our staff, to run the door and seat you on the night.
- Google — the reservation list is kept in Google Sheets, and the website and its logs run on Google Cloud.
- Resend — if you give an email address, our email provider delivers your confirmation message. They receive your email address, the event, your seats and your reference code.
Nobody else. We never sell or rent your data, and we do not use it for marketing or send you newsletters.
How long we keep it
Your name, email address, phone number and message are automatically deleted 90 days after the event. After that we keep only the non-identifying part of the record — which seats were taken, the reference code, and whether the reservation was used — so the venue can see how busy past nights were.
If you would like your details removed sooner, email us with your reference code and we will delete them.
Your rights
You can ask us to give you a copy of the data we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. You can also object to how we use it. To do any of these, email reservations@santelmo.bar and include your booking reference code so we can find the right record.
If you are in the EU or UK and you think we have handled your data badly, you can complain to your national data protection authority.
Cookies
We use one cookie, santelmo_bookings, purely so the site can remember your own reservation on your own device. It is not a tracking cookie, it is never sent to any third party, and our server never reads it. We use no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why this site does not ask you to accept cookies.
Children
This site and its reservation service are intended for adults and are not directed at children.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
